Car accidents are more severe in Central Florida

After living in Central Florida for several years, the thing that most impressed me was the severity of the car accidents that you saw virtually every day. Sure, the weather in Tampa and Orlando were wonderful, and sure, I liked the Mouse. However, the car accidents are what stick out in my mind. Central Florida has its share of DUI accidents and domestic disputes, and I’ve lived in places where rural roads produce bad car accidents, but this just didn’t explain it.
I talked with a couple of buddies, one a cop and the other a lawyer, and asked them the cause. The only explanation was that the number of tourists drinking, driving, and looking around at the sites in unfamiliar territory leads to more severe accidents. The lawyer also pointed out that because many of the defendants were from out of town, it was more important that usual to get a lawyer right away. Personal injury cases get more complicated the longer you waited, let alone in cases where criminal or civil defendants were out of Central Florida days after the car accident. I'm not trying to ruin anyone’s vacation in Tampa or Orlando, just a heads up to be safe.
